At Restaurant ’t Deurtje we present a modern, lightly French cuisine with influences from Southern Europa with here and there an Oriental touch. Every ingredient is fresh and as much as possible sustainable. In this context: our fish has the MSC hallmark which guarantees sustainable catching. We also use local products such as vegetables and we grow our own tomatoes. This way we are able to ensure for sustainable, delicious and crispy fresh ingredients on your plate.
Kitchen chef Rob van Schaick and deputy head, Bart Dijkstra are the managers of the kitchen team of Restaurant ‘t Deurtje. They have been friends for a long time, followed cookery schools, work placements and have worked in various top restaurants. Nowadays and for quite some years they have worked closely together at Restaurant ’t Deurtje .
During their voyages close by and far away, they have gained inspiration for the dishes they create in their kitchen. This is the base for a kitchen style which for several years is representative of Restaurant ’t Deurtje: an inventive, lightly French cuisine with influences from Southern Europe with here and there an Oriental touch. All this using daily fresh and whenever possible sustainable products.
Inside the restaurant you will meet the warm atmosphere of Restaurant ’t Deurtje. Outside you can enjoy a cosy stay on the terrace, directly located at the banks of the river Amstel, where boats pass by and the millionaires view over the water and the village of Ouderkerk is unforgettable. You will also find our magnificent sheltered garden at the rear side of the restaurant. During more than 35 years Restaurant ’t Deurtje has grown from a bistro into one of the top restaurants of Amstelveen and Ouderkerk aan de Amstel.
